Daly City Childcare and Community Event Center design
Daly City
Summary
The city showed off plans for a new Head Start childcare center for 42+ infants and toddlers plus a 420-person event hall on a steep site near City Hall. Council pushed hard on parking and drop-off safety — the mayor wants a roundabout-style solution before the project advances.

Impact analysis
Funded through prior grants including initial funding from Congresswoman Jackie Speier's era; parking construction elsewhere would cost roughly $60,000–$100,000 per space, per the vice mayor.
Working families needing affordable childcare, plus community groups and residents who lack a large modern event venue in Daly City.
Neighbors on Sullivan and 91st/92nd may face event traffic and double parking if drop-off issues aren't resolved.
