Possible relocation of Daly City Partnership services

Mixed-use library facilities concept
Trustee Tronco floated the idea of housing atop a new or renovated library building. Director Anderson noted the city has no plans for a new facility and funding would be the key factor.
Affordable housing local preference

Inclusionary Housing Ordinance (No. 1493)
Ordinance No. 1493 would amend the city's inclusionary housing rules in Chapter 17.47 — the requirements that tie new development to affordable housing. This affects what gets built, how much affordable housing is produced, and ultimately housing costs in Daly City.
Status of Women in Daly City Report
Draft data shows Daly City households earn about 78 cents on the county's median dollar, with lower educational attainment, and a population that is nearly 50% foreign-born with 59% speaking a non-English language at home. Commissioners want to understand and address these gaps through policy recommendations.
Proposed billiards hall at 6232 Mission Street
A vacant retail building on Mission Street could become a family-friendly billiards hall with 21 pool tables, snacks, and bottled beer. Commissioners and speakers framed it as giving Daly City teens and families a safe recreational option, with conditions on hours, security, and no loitering.

Affordable housing programs in San Mateo County
HIP Housing presented programs that house about 1,200 people a year, including subsidized rent for one to five years with case management and job support. The commission noted that Daly City workers commuting from Stockton and Sacramento would benefit from living closer to their jobs.
Data center moratorium discussion
Council members DiGiovanni and Manalo suggested studying a moratorium on data centers, citing a proposed Cow Palace data-center MOU and unresolved health impacts.
Serramonte Boulevard drive-through restaurants

HIP Housing presented programs that house about 1,200 people a year, including subsidized rent for one to five years with case management and job support. The commission noted that Daly City workers commuting from Stockton and Sacramento would benefit from living closer to their jobs.
Ocean View Stables Coastal Development Permit
The last horse facility on the Peninsula needed a coastal permit to keep using mobile trailers for its riding lessons, youth camps, and veteran programs. The commission found the trailers enhance coastal access and don't harm sensitive habitat, and sent the permit to the City Council.
Tenant Anti-Harassment Ordinance
Renters organized with Faith in Action have been coming to council since November demanding an anti-harassment law to protect tenants from mold, ignored repairs, eviction threats and rent intimidation. Staff says stakeholder meetings with tenant and landlord groups will happen in early June, with a possible council study session to follow.
